People of full age have the right to marry and choose who they will marry. Men and women are entitled to equal rights at marriage, during marriage and at its dissolution.

It should be specified that marriage is not necessarily composed by a woman and a man but of two persons regardless of their gender.
Good point. This has been carefully worded so that the expected outcome in court that you mention is likely. Given the controversary around it, there’s a question about how this right should be framed.
Is there specific wording you think would be better?
Thank you so much for your reply, personally I would word it in the following way “People of full age have the right to marry and choose who they will marry, *regardless of the spouses’ gender*.” I think that the present wording already implies that marriage does not entail a woman and a man but, maybe, by adding this clarification all discussions around the matter could be avoided. This way no country could argue that marriage is, by definition, between a woman and a man.

While people may choose to have arranged marriages, they cannot be forced to accept them. Equal treatment includes at dissolution of marriage.
